Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene is a fluorine based polymer having properties like high resistance to temperature and corrosion, high tensile strength, radiation resistance, thermal stability and is relatively lightweight. It has low coefficient of friction therefore used in scratch protection application and roofing as an alternative of glass and hard plastic in some buildings.  ETFE film is 100% recyclable, and self-cleaning. It is also used in insulation for electrical and fibre-optic wiring.


Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene is durable, self-cleaning, and lightweight material which can be recycled into usable ETFE products. It is an eco-friendly material which has 100% recycling ability, which requires less fabrication thereby reducing carbon emission. Additionally, it is a transparent material and has an about 85% to 95% light transmission, thus can be used as an alternative to structural glass. The rising environmental concern is driving the demand for eco-friendly alternatives for construction of green buildings which is boosting the ETFE market.



High level of sound transmission occurs through ETFE as compared to plastics and glass, which is mainly restricting the overall market growth. However, rain and noise suppression systems are incorporated, thereby driving the market demand.
