The actuator is a mechanical component that converts any form of energy in the vehicle into motion. It is a device that uses energy, which is created by air, electricity, liquid, and converts it into the form of movement. Actuators are present right from ailerons on aircraft to electric door locks in automobiles. Industrial plants use actuators to operate valves, fluid couplings, dampers, and other devices used in industrial process control. Actuators convert the electrical signals, which are provided from the central control unit into tangible action. It helps to regulate engine flywheel rotation, engine idle speed, engine torque this results in increasing vehicle performance and engine efficiency.

Automotive Actuators are of three types hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic. In a Hydraulic actuator, hydraulic power is being used by a fluid motor to complete a mechanical operation. Motion achieved is in terms of oscillatory, linear, or rotary. Pneumatic actuators are in huge demand owing to the energy conversion capability. It converts energy from compressed air into linear motion, which supports its application in engine controls. Pneumatic actuators are used in engine control for instantaneously firing operations during this period; the system is needed to respond quickly in terms of starting and stopping. Furthermore, rising demand for fuel-efficient vehicles is expected to propel the automotive actuators market during the forecast period.

Key Players Covered in the Automotive Actuators Market:

Some of the major companies that are present in the automotive actuators market include Valeo S.A., Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Denso Corporation, Robert Bosch GmbH, Wabco Holdings Inc., Stoneridge Inc., Hitachi, Ltd., Johnson Electric Holdings Limited, Nidec Corporation, Continental AG among the other players.

By type, the global automotive actuators market is segmented into hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic. Electric actuators help to convert electrical energy into mechanical torque. A mechanical brake is equipped above the motor to assist the actuator to keep a check on the opening of the valve and avoid opening or wholly closed when not required. In the absence of a mechanical brake, valves may open and close to their original position continuously. This may lead to abrasion of motor and actuator and would result in loss of performance. Hydraulic actuators have a cylinder filled with a fluid or fluid motor that is used for executing the mechanical operation. It is not possible to compress a liquid; therefore, the hydraulic actuator is used to large force for a considerable duration.  Based on application type, the global automotive a actuators market is segmented into the throttle, fuel injection, brake, and others. The throttle type application segment is expected to dominate the market over the forecast period owing to implementation in proportionate throttle operation. These integrations give features like stability control, traction control, high performance, and cruise control. By vehicle type, further, the market has been segmented into passenger cars and commercial vehicles

Regional Analysis:

Geographically, the global automotive actuators market is segmented into North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Rest of the World. Asia Pacific is anticipated to dominate the market owing to high production capability in this region. This region has a massive demand for passenger cars owing to the growing economy and installation of safe and technologically advanced sensors and actuators in vehicles. Countries like Germany and U.S purchase automotive components from this region as it is a major hub for manufacturing automotive parts. Followed by Asia Pacific, North America, and Europe are also expected to show steady growth in this market over the forecast period.
