The suspension of a vehicle driven by an engine-driven compressor or air pump is called the air suspension. The air suspension system consists of air springs, shock absorbers, beam assembly, brake system, axle. Air suspension helps to improve driving comfort of the vehicle with increased stability and reduced fuel consumption. An air suspension system is a type of suspension system which supports vehicle on an axle and consist of air spring instead of steel spring or leaf spring. The air suspension reduces noise and vibration and also increases the capacity to transport loads by leveling the suspension. Air suspension consists of different types of components, such as air spring and height sensor. The technological advancement in the air suspension had led to an increase in the adoption of air suspension in all vehicle segments. Air Springs have more capabilities than conventional coil springs. Vehicles maintain constant levels with air suspension, regardless amount of the load applied to it.

Height sensors are one of the essential electronic devices of vehicles; it helps to maintain the height of the vehicle by measuring the distance between specific points of vehicle and road. Furthermore, height sensors send the signal to the self-leveling module, which activates the compressor that eventually adjusts suspension settings. The adoption of air suspension in passenger cars and heavy vehicles like buses, trucks, and others has increased over the conventional steel springs. They are also equipped in semi-trailers and trains. The air suspension provides a smooth, comfortable, and constant ride to the occupants. The high-cost related to the installation of the air suspension system in the vehicle is expected to restrain the growth of the market.

Key Players Covered in the Automotive Air Suspension Market:

Some of the major companies that are present in the automotive air suspension market include Continental AG, ThyssenKrupp AG, WABCO, Hendrickson USA, L.L.C., Dunlop Systems and Components, Hitachi, Ltd., ZF Friedrichshafen AG, and Magneti Marelli S.p.A. among the other players.

By technology type, the global market is segmented into electronically controlled air suspension, and non-electronically controlled air suspension. The electronically controlled air suspension (ECAS) is expected to dominate the market during the forecast period owing to the growing adoption of technologically advanced systems. Electronically controlled air suspension provides the leveling of the vehicle, reduced vibration, and higher stability. coupled with a more comfortable ride, optimum road grip, and the ability to adapt to varying load capacities. By vehicle type, further, the market has been segmented into passenger cars and commercial vehicles. The commercial vehicle accounts for the largest share of this market.

Regional Analysis:

Geographically, the automotive air suspension market is segmented into North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the rest of the World. Asia Pacific is expected to witness good growth of the automotive air suspension market during the forecast period owing to technological advancements in this region and the presence of major key players in countries like China, India, and Japan. Europe is expected to show significant growth in the market during the forecast period. The growing adoption of technologically advanced products with improved technical capabilities is expected to drive the market in this region.
