Report Format: PDF | Published Date: Ongoing | Report ID: FBI100841 | Status : Upcoming

A Non-rebreathing oxygen mask is used for the delivery of high oxygen concentration via a face mask containing a reservoir bag that allows adequate oxygen to be available for the unpredicted breathing pattern of the patient and tidal volume. Smoking remains one of the major risk factors for breathing or respiratory disorders; other factors include infections, occupational factors, and rising air pollution.

According to the Global Burden of Disease Study conducted by the World Health Organization, in 2016, the prevalence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) was 251 million. As per the reports of WHO, the prevalence of Asthma in the world has increased in the last 40 years because of the adoption of modern lifestyle, and approximately 100 million people will be added by 2025. The increasing episodes of emergency visits requiring Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) have boosted the demand for the non-rebreathing oxygen mask.

The growth in global non-rebreathing oxygen market is being driven by the increase in chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma, pulmonary hypertension, respiratory allergies, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD), and many others. Also, the rise in trauma cases due to road traffic accidents is also driving the global non-rebreathing oxygen market. According to World Health Organization, a total number of deaths from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is forecasted to increase by more than 30% in the next ten years, resulting in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) becoming the third leading cause of death worldwide by 2030.

However, a non-rebreathing oxygen mask is not effective in long term treatment, and malfunction can result in carbon dioxide build-up, which are the factors that can hamper the growth in the global non-rebreathing oxygen market.
