The rapid growth in industrialization has extensively increased the consumption rate of fossil fuel and they are speedily depleting. Tire-derived fuel (TDF) provide an alternative to fossil fuel by using waste or scrapped tire as a fuel in cement kilns, paper pulp industry, power generation, and utility boiler. But after the Hagersville tire fire, government and tire industries realized the potential risk associated with scrap tire piles and dealing effectively to promote recycling and other end uses of tires. Tire-derived fuel produces the same amount of energy as oil and 25% more energy than coal according to EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). The ash residues from TDF contain less metal content result in lower NOx and sulfur emission. This will provide an interim solution and alternative to a conventional energy source that is expected the growth of the tire-derived fuel.
