Polyolefin is type of polymer generally produced from alkene monomer. Most of the polyolefins are industrially synthesized on large scale. There are 4 types of polyolefin catalyst namely Ziegler-Natta catalyst, chromium based catalyst, metallocene single site catalyst and post metallocene SSC. Increasing adoption of polyolefin by food packaging industries is one of the prime reason driving demand for polyolefin catalysts.

There has been significant rise in demand for consumer goods since last decade attributed to the rapidly increasing population. Increase in demand for plastic films, goods, and plastic packaging products is primarily driving the market. Additionally, technological development in the fluid catalytic cracking unit which is increasing the polyolefin production shall positively impact market growth.

However, price of raw materials used to synthesize the polyolefin catalyst like are volatile which is responsible for high cost of the product. This is expected to hinder market growth.
