A reinforced plastic sheet is made of robust plastic film covered with tear-proof  inner scrim building.   It posses fire protection, hazardous chemicals resistance, and superior strength. These  are versatile and lightweight plastic panels made of durable polyester resin, improved by the combining of two or more different materials. They can form into a thin film. Three of the main reinforced plastic sheeting are: polyethylene, the most commonly found film made from one of the low density polyethylene types, high density polyethylene, and a medium density polyethylene

Manufacturing companies of automotive and OEMs are progressing technology and switching their necessity innovative materials to decrease vehicle weight , improve fuel effectiveness and deliver carbon emission control. The trend towards FRP sheets and panels provides many advantages in terms of strength and weight over traditional steel and injection moulded automotive components. However, the existence of replacement products such as aluminum, TPUs, engineered plastics, TPOs and other metal alloys can prove to be a barrier to product market development.

Regional Analysis:

The reinforced plastic sheeting market  has been segmented into North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Middle East & Africa. North America is projected to be the largest reinforced plastic sheeting market due to increased production of recreational vehicles and trucks & trailers, and increased demand for robust process lightweight items. The U.S. is the largest supplier to the FRP panels and sheets industry in North America. Many of the big producers have their headquarters and primary manufacturers in the US. It is expected that Asia Pacific will rise at a phenomenal rate in the reinforced plastic sheeting due to increased per capita income and increased investment in infrastructure in emerging economies like China , India and Malaysia. In addition, the involvement of major car manufacturers is rising the market for FRP products in the region for vehicle weight reduction and fuel efficiency improvements. Since these improved materials can be changed to meet design specifications. This will accelerate the scale of the reinforced plastic sheeting market in Europe over the expected timespan. Developing economies, such as the Middle East and Africa, are anticipated to widen significantly over the forecast period due to strict government regulations on fuel economy and vehicle safety which are expected to drive the product demand for lightweight vehicles. Latin America is experiencing slow growth because of the existence of alternatives obstacle in the growth of the product market.

Reinforced Plastic Sheeting Industry Developments

  • On 1st January 2018, Roda purchased by LAMILUX. The team is comprised of the Langenau-based roda Licht- und Lufttechnik GmbH. Roda Licht- und Lufttechnik became part of the company framework and a new flat sheet system was designed for the development of fiber-reinforced plastics LAMILUX has produced the overall market first flat roof window for the use of structured cabling technology with General Technical Approval.  The merger of the two companies is a continuation of the strong and significant organizational growth of LAMILUX Group and its role as a leading premium supplier would be further emphasised.
