Toner resin is also called toner binder, it comprises of styrene component, acrylic acid ester component, methacrylic acid ester component, or divinyl monomer component. The toner resin can be magnetic or non-magnetic. Additionally, the product is economic, environment protective, and has the ability to works in low temperature. The toner resin also has a non-offsetting property, excellent fixing property, and blocking resistance. It helps to serve the solution of a high-temperature and high-speed copying machine, which is formed from this toner resin. The product finds its applications in the drum unit and printing ink.

The rising demand for the toner resin in the printing ink will drive the market growth. Many of the copy machines consume high electricity in generating heat to melt the toner. Due to this, the demand for toner resin has increased. The toner resins help to decrease electricity consumption by fixing toner to paper at lower temperatures. In addition, many of the toner manufacturers are adopting recycled plastics to produce toner. This step will further help in the reduction of CO2 emission. These factors surge the demand for toner resin in printing ink.

However, the high demand for toner resins leads to cause unavailability sometimes. This restricts their adoption in various applications. Hence, this is anticipated to hamper the market growth.

Toner Resins Industry Developments

  • In April 2018, Fuji Xerox launched Fuji Xerox DocuPrint CP505 d and CP555 d A4 color printers, and DocuPrint P505 d A4 monochrome printer in the Asia-Pacific. The series includes a super EA-Eco Toner which contains a new polyester resin that affects the viscosity of the toner when changing temperature. This new launch will help the company to expand its product as well as its business in the Asia Pacific.

  • In March 2016, JADI Group acquired AQC Group UK (Ltd), a United Kingdom European toner distributor. This acquisition is a strategic move from the JADI to combine a European distribution center and a world-class toner manufacturer together as one strong force. This acquisition will help the company to expand its business.
