Expanding Defense Budgets of Major World Economies to Benefit the Market
Major economic powers are rapidly enhancing their defense capabilities by increasing their spending on military technologies. The main reason for such increased spending is the growing focus of countries to counter any foreseen and unforeseen threats that may endanger national security. According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), in 2019, world military expenditure was standing at USD 1,917 billion. The US, China, India, Russia, and Saudi Arabia emerged as the biggest spenders, the SIPRI data reveal. Expanding budgetary allocation for defense reflects a country’s intention to equip its armed forces with advanced military technologies such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). These machines have been immensely efficient in gathering data from surveillance operations and with cross-border conflicts intensifying between neighboring nations, the deployment of UAVs has notably grown over the past few years. Further, UAV simulators are also playing a critical role in training and skilling pilots to perform spying activities in enemy territories and prepare them for crisis situations.
