The aluminium trihydrate is also called an alumina trihydrate and aluminium trihydroxide. It is a powder-formed solid substance and appears as a white colour with no odour. It is an amphoteric compound and naturally occurs in the form of bayerite, gibbsite, doyletie, and nordstrandite. It has low solubility in water but can be soluble in strong alkali and acids. At high temperature, the aluminium trihydrate decomposes to water, aluminum oxide, and aluminum oxide, thereby uses as a flame retardant in various applications. Additionally, the aluminium trihydrate is chemically inert, non-toxic, and resistant to abrasion. These properties make it a sustainable solution in a wide range of applications which include fire-retardant, coagulant, catalyst, antacids, vaccine, mineral extender, and smoke suppressant.

The increasing adoption of aluminium trihydrate in the pharmaceutical and plastic industries will aid to fuel the market growth. The primary use of the product can be seen in the antacids formulation, owing to its basic properties. Further, it is also used to buffer the pH in the stomach, which helps to treat upset and sour stomach. Whereas, due to flame retardant property, the aluminium trihydrate is used in the formulation of polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The rapid growth in the pharmaceutical industry coupled with innovation in the plastic products will aid to surge the product demand. Hence, the rising demand will fuel the aluminium trihydrate market growth during the forecast timeline.

However, the excess consumption or direct inhalation of aluminium trihydrate can cause eye irritation and respiratory tract. This restricts the adoption of the product in various applications. Hence, this іѕ anticipated to restrain market growth.
