The main components of the system are sonar control unit (SCU), four rear sensors and sonar buzzer. When the vehicle reverses, the sonar system is activated. The four level of distance is detected by central sonar, while three levels of distance is detected by external sonar. In car, the sonar sensor leads the sensor signal to the SCU, which transforms it into a detection distance signal, and subsequently sends it to the instrument cluster through controller area network (CAN) communication. Compared to light-based sensors. The advantage of sonar is that it is not confused by transparent or black surfaces. On the other hand, compared with 550 nm of visible light, the wavelength of ultrasound is much larger than the wavelength of light, that is, it is usually about 4 mm. Therefore, without transducer faces the reflector surface in the normal direction, only rough surfaces or edges can reflect sound waves. Though, maximum real-world outdoor surfaces almost always have some type of surface roughness, which enables sonar to detect objects. Consequently, it was decided to use sonar sensors for collision avoidance systems

In particular, the sensor should be resistant to moisture, dust particles, vehicle engine noise, and other sound sources. The sonar control unit is capable of self-diagnosis. It can detect sensor failure or open sensor harness.

Market Segmentation:

Globally, the automotive corner sonar market is segmented by type, by application type and by geographic coverage. The type is divided into active sonar and passive sonar. The active sonar holds the largest share of the global automotive corner sonar market and is estimated to maintain its leading position during the forecast period. Active sonar is largely used in nowadays cars especially in autonomous cars and also every day vehicles. Although the energy used by passive sensors already exists, especially light or heat. And has also many benefits over active sonar. Some of the utmost serious complications with active sensors is interference. As more and more self-driving cars take to the streets, the number of sensors is also increasing. Providing they use active sensors; this means that the energy released by these sensors to the world will increase. As a result, they may ultimately interfere with each other, and this problem will merely be exacerbated when people use active sensors. This may cause objects with a small radar cross-section to be undetected. The passive sensor maybe the fastest growing segment and is expected to propel the growth of the automotive corner sonar market in the forecast period. The application type is bifurcated into passenger cars and commercial vehicles. The usage of sonar is increasing rapidly in the passenger cars over the period of time. The increasing safety among the drivers is also expected factor responsible for the growth of this segment.

Regional Analysis:

Geographically, the automotive corner sonar market is segmented into North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the rest of the world. The North America holds the maximum share of the global automotive corner sonar market and is estimated to maintain its dominance over the forecast period. The increasing number of autonomous cars in this region is responsible factor for the growth of the market in this region. Asia Pacific is also expected to show exponential growth in this market over the forecast period owing to rising number of the luxury cars in this region. Europe is also expected to show good growth in this market over the forecast period owing to rising stringent rules regarding safety of the passenger and driver in this region.
