An automotive launch control system is an electronic feature in the vehicle which is computer controlled performance-enhancing system. This system assists the diver to accelerate the vehicle from halt with a combination of minimal wheel spin and sufficient power thus offering higher advantage over other participants in motorsport or racing events. The automotive launch control system is operated by using electronic accelerators and computer programs. The software helps to control acceleration according to the engine specifications, so that the car accelerates fast and smoothly, thus avoiding failures in engine owed to slipping of the drive wheels and gearbox, excessive rotation, and glitches in clutches. The launch control system in the vehicle has several tasks to complete in order to make the car go offline quickly and efficiently. Moreover, the system needs to maximize the available traction, power, weight transfer, and eliminate wheel slip and bounce, thus increasing the power assistance to the required level in the forced induction powertrain system. The automotive manufacturers have proposed various launch control systems that function on the principle of producing misfire in any one of the engine cylinder. As a result, as the speed and pressure of the mixture in the cylinder increases, the vehicle's built-in revolutions per minute (rpm) helps the car to start at higher power and enables the driver to keep the vehicle at full throttle to start the vehicle.

Market Segmentation:

Globally, the automotive launch control system market is segmented by market type, by vehicle type, and by geographic coverage. The market type is further segmented into OEM and aftermarket. The OEM segment holds the largest share in the global market and is expected to maintain its dominance during the forecast period, owing to the increasing sales and production of sports and super cars that provides launch control systems as a standard fitment in these cars. The vehicle type is further segmented into passenger cars and commercial vehicles. The passenger cars accounts for the significant share in the global market and is expected to uphold its dominance over the forecast period. The growth of automotive launch control systems in passenger car segment is attributed to the expansion of motorsport and racing events coupled with the higher performance offered by the launch control systems. Moreover, drag racing is also gaining high popularity along with the increasing attraction from the adventure seekers. In addition, the exponential growth in the adoption rate of sports cars is encouraging the world's leading manufacturers to expand their product range as well as expand their global influence, which in turn is driving the growth in the global market.
