Report Format: PDF | Published Date: Ongoing | Report ID: FBI105394 | Status : Upcoming

Pitch coke is produced from coal tar that occurs during coke production. It is also a by-product, which comes from the thermal distillation of graphite or bituminous coal manufacturing. It has relatively high thermal conductivity and inherently low in sulfur than calcined pet-coke. Furthermore, the pitch coke is extremely high in carbon but low in impurities. It is mainly used as a raw material and carburization agent in several products. The pitch coke finds its application in the aluminum anode, artificial graphite electrode, recarburizer, carbon specialty, carbon additive, antifriction, flame retardant, and refectories.

The increasing demand for pitch coke from the various application will fuel the market growth. As a raw material, the product is used for the anode in aluminum smelting. In the manufacturing of electrodes, the pitch coke is highly used as a recarburiser and input. Moreover, the product inhibits considerably lower content of volatile components, thereby makes it’s a preferred choice when compared with green petroleum coke. The increase in governmental initiatives on the usage of solar panels in commercial and residential buildings coupled with rising demand for electrode will boost the consumption of pitch coke. Hence, these factors will fuel market growth during the forecast timeline.

However, the climatic changes affect the working of solar panels, thereby affect the solar panel use in various applications.   Hence, this is anticipated to hamper the market growth.
