Top Electric Car Rental Companies Driving the Future of Sustainable Mobility

July 02, 2026 | Automotive & Transportation

Electric car rentals have become a popular form of mobility services, enabling customers to rent battery-powered vehicles hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. Most will include insurance and maintenance as part of the service, which enables consumers to have access to EVs without needing to own them, and reduces the cost barrier associated with EVs. Heavy growth in electric car rental is expected as demand for EV rental grows due to increased investments, growing charging infrastructure, new city regulations around emissions/lease restrictions in cities, etc. This lowers the operating/maintenance costs for fleets, making them a more attractive economic option and consumers.

Driven by these progressions in the industry, the market of electric car rental, analyzed by Fortune Business Insights was valued at USD 8.35 billion in 2025 and is estimated to hit USD 45.79 billion by 2034, with a remarkable CAGR of 20.3% over the forecast period.
