Agricultural Microbials Market to Grow at a CAGR of 15.73% from 2025-2032; Growing Prevalence of Pests to Propel Market Growth

December 02, 2025 | Agriculture

The global agricultural microbials market size was valued at USD 8,315.57 million in 2024. The market is projected to grow from USD 9,533.03 million in 2025 to USD 26,752.63 million by 2032, exhibiting a CAGR of 15.73% during the forecast period.

Fortune Business Insights™ presents this information in its report titled, “Agricultural Microbials Market Size, Share & Industry Analysis by Type (Bacteria, Fungi, Virus, and Others), By Formulation (Dry and Liquid), By Function (Soil Amendment [Biofertilizers and Biostimulants] and Crop Protection [Biofungicides, Bioinsecticides, Bionematicides, and Others]), By Application Method (Foliar Spray, Soil Treatment, Seed Treatment, and Others), By Crop (Cereals, Oilseed & Pulses, Fruits & Vegetables, and Others), and Regional Forecast, 2025–2032”

Microbial products used in agriculture are based on the principle that live microbes are equivalent to probiotics and are applied through a variety of methods, including foliar, soil treatment, seed treatment, and others, with the goal of achieving significant benefits in crop health and growth. The increasing prevalence of pests drives global market expansion.

Corteva AG Launched Two Innovative Nature Inspired Technologies to Keep Harmful Pests Under Control

  • November 2025: Corteva AG, in order to help farmers’ better safeguard crop production, has launched two innovative pest control technologies inspired by nature. The first is Goltrevo, a microbial-based product created from a unique strain of the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana 203 and Corteva’s first bioinsecticide.  Varpelgo Active, a next-generation synthetic pesticide inspired by nature, is the second product. It keeps loopers, armyworms, diamondback moths, and other chewing pests under control.

Adverse Climatic Conditions Coupled with High Demand for Good Quality Pesticides to Drive Market Growth

The rise in pests in the environment has been spurred by shifting climatic circumstances, such as rising average global temperatures, decreasing rainfall, groundwater levels, and arable land. In addition, the demand for high-quality pesticides or pest management has increased globally due to the rapid spread of illnesses and pests.

However, sensitivity to temperature fluctuations and limited shelf life, may hamper agricultural microbials market growth.

Key Players to Invest Heavily in R&D for Launch of Innovative Products

Notable players are focusing on R&D of novel innovative products to maintain and widen their strong position in the competitive agricultural microbials market. Moreover, the presence of globally leading businesses in the market is further boosting the expansion of the agricultural microbials market through expanding their reach in the high-growth regions such as North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Notable Industry Development

July 2024: In order to improve crops’ nutrient use efficiency, Syngenta and Intrinsy Bio collaborated to provide a novel biological solution. The partnership makes use of Intrinsyx Bio’s exclusive endophyte formulations, which are naturally occurring microorganisms that live inside plants and directly fix atmospheric nitrogen while boosting the availability and uptake of essential minerals like phosphorus and micronutrients.

Further Report Findings

  • North America region led the agricultural microbials market share. The increased use of organic agricultural methods and growing knowledge of the advantages these bacteria offer to the environment are the reasons for this highest percentage of share. Countries such as the U.S. are renowned for encouraging greater use of microrganisms and facilitating a number of laws and rules to raise awareness and support farmers.
  • Europe, throughout the forecast period, is the second-largest market in the world, will continue to hold a significant share. The region’s strict laws prohibiting the use of synthetic or chemically induced agricultural input products are the reason for this position. The rise of the European agricultural microbials market is being driven by the region’s increased awareness of sustainable agricultural practices and its shift toward the use of microbial and organic methods.
