  • July 2020 – In a press release, Boom Supersonic and Rolls-Royce announced an engagement agreement to explore the pairing of a Rolls-Royce propulsion system with Boom’s supersonic passenger jet, Overture. The contract for 12 new aircraft will enable the Air Force to continue the Rafale build-up while awaiting the fifth tranche, which is scheduled for delivery between 2027 and 2030.
